Operations Manager
Description:
General Summary
Proactively manage the 24 hour per day operations of the food manufacturing facility to achieve the Productivity, Safety, and Quality goals of King & Prince Seafood Corp. Provide leadership in the management of, and coordination with, all departments, including Production planning and scheduling, R&D, QA, and Logistics.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A. Safety
1. Provide leadership and commitment to all company safety programs.
2. Ensure that all employee's receive the mandatory Safety and Food Safety trainings.
3. Actively participate in the company's Safety Committee.
4. Provide a safe working environment for plant personnel.
B. Production
1. Provide direction and support to the Production Manager.
2. Oversee the effective excecution of the production plan to meet King & Prince inventory and shipping requirements.
3. Develop with the Planning department an efficent work schedule, to maximize plant performance and curtomer service.
4. Achieve on a consistent basis the scheduled production volumes.
5. Meet or exceed standard yields and throughputs to meet the Plant's Attainement to Standard goal.
6. Review the plant's production results and work order performance to assure the effective use of resources and materials.
7. Detect and analyze trends in performance to identify problems and opportunities, and take appropriate actions to correct or sustain positive trends as necessary.
C. Personnel
1. Develop and maintain a dedicated, capable, productive team of Managers, Supervisors, and support personnel.
2. Develop and maintain a sense of teamwork among the salaried workforce through motivation and training.
3. Provide opportunities for salaried personnel to receive necessary training to continuously improve their management skills.
4. Establish performance goals for salaried employees, and hold them accountable for their areas of responsibility.
D. Maintenance Technical Services
1. Provide direction and support to the Maintenance Manager.
2. Support the production effort by instituting a thorought and reliable maintenance system with emphasis in Preventive Maintenance to minimize down time.
3. Assure that the operation of the different areas under the responsibility of the Operations Manager, meet with Local, County, State, and Federal regulations.
4. Optain and maintain proper certifications in support of King and Prince Emergency Response Team and Incident Commander.
5. Oversee and make sure that King and Prince complies with all regulations related to the operation of the Waste Treatment Plant, Effluent compliance, and Drinking Water.
E. Sanitation
1. Provide direction and support to the Plant Sanitation Manager.
2. Review plant sanitation needs and execution to comply with Food Safety, GMP's, County, State, and Federal guidelines.
3. Coordinate with service providers and maintain an effective Pest Control program.
4. Develop and maintain effective Standard Operating Procedures to guarantee a contamination free plant and equipment, and meeting the Pre-Op daily requirements.
5. Through the Sanitation Manager, ensure that athe facility is maintain in a sanitary manner in accordance with King and Prince, USFDA, USDC, and Customer Requirements.
F. Continuous Improvement
1. Develop and maintain an environment of Continuous Improvement throughout the facility.
2. Spearhead and support the Lean Manufacturing process to include 5s, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen and Six sigma principles.
3. Initiate, lead, and participate in activities/teams aimed at: Process Improvement, Cost Savings, Quality Improvements, and Waste Reduction.
4. Partner with R&D to improve quality and efficiencies of existing products, develop processes for new products that assure both manufacturability and quality in support of King and Prince goals.
5. Coordinate with R&D and QA plant trials and support the development of new products.
6. Support Innovation in everything we do.
Qualifications

B.S./B.A. degree from an accredited college or university

7-10 years experience in the food processing industry with a track record of increasing levels of responsibility, authority and performance

Demonstrated ability to manage in a team based environment

Proven ability to motivate employees to a high level of performance

Personal computer skills - working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
